Opuntia basilaris "Beavertail Cactus"
Spring is the most beautiful time of year in the southwest. Here are some photos I've taken over the past few weeks that show the various types of desert blooms. All of these photos were taken with a free iPhone application called
Instagram-- it's sort of like a toy camera for your iPhone. I've included all of the plant names (scientific and common) in case you're interested in learning more about them or incorporating them into your garden!
Agave americana "Century Plant"
Bougainvillea glabra "Bougainvillea"
Aloe variegata "Tiger Aloe"
Pachyveria "Belle Blue"
Artemisia tridentata "Sagebrush"
That is soooooo beautiful. Those bits of color in an otherwise gray-green world make them seem even more beautiful in contrast.
ReplyDeleteGreat photo's. I too live in AZ and document my dusty desert live on my blog www.arizonawild.com. It's nice to meet a fellow blogger from Az.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Suzie! It's nice to meet you, too! I will have to check out your blog.
